Designed for architects, art historians, photographers, and cultural travellers, the journey moves from the coastal rock-cut monuments of Mahabalipuram to the monumental Chola temples of Thanjavur, the vast temple city of Madurai, and the merchant heritage of Chettinad — offering a deep understanding of Dravidian temple architecture, iconography, and living tradition.

The tour begins in Chennai and Mahabalipuram, home to UNESCO-listed rock-cut shrines and the iconic Shore Temple overlooking the Bay of Bengal. In Thanjavur, experience the Brihadeeswarar Temple, part of the UNESCO Great Living Chola Temples, a masterpiece of 11th-century Chola architecture and engineering.

The journey continues to Madurai, where the Meenakshi Amman Temple offers one of India’s most spectacular examples of Dravidian temple architecture, with its towering, sculpture-covered gopurams and centuries-old ritual traditions still practised daily. The route concludes in Chettinad, exploring the region’s distinctive mansion architecture, craft traditions, and celebrated cuisine.
